Forte dei Marmi

Forte dei Marmi is a popular holiday that is overlooking the east coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The name of Forte dei Marmi takes its name from the fortress that stands in the centre of the city, built by the Grand Duke Peter Leopold, for defensive purposes to protect ed'approdo even for the marbles that the Apuane Alps were transported to the wharf and then take the path of the sea. The symbol of the city, "Fortino", which is on its city centre, a grand ducal fortress built in the late eighteenth century.
